Twenty-one year old, Matt Gibson is a new signing for JLT Condor. He has a breakout 2015 season. Hailing from Lymm, Cheshire, his year with a bronze medal at the Track World Cup in Cali as part of a fledgling team pursuit squad, and ended it with a gold in the same discipline alongside Sir Bradley Wiggins at the European Track Championships in October.
Gibson has shown to be a talented track rider and his fast turn of speed sees him at the sharp end of a sprint field and an important part of the JLT Condor leadout train. Matt’s role is divided between stage race squad and British criterium event.
In 2017 he won the overall title of the British Cycling Circuit Series and in 2018 Matt became the first rider to claim a British UCI race win. He sprinted across the line ahead of Australian Cycling Academy rider, Tobias Orchard, on stage three of the New Zealand Cycle Classic.
