Ed Clancy is undoubtedly JLT – Condor’s biggest name. A triple gold medallist, Clancy’s third medal, won at the 2016 Rio Olympic was an extraordinary feat of bravery. He battled hard to gain his fittest back after a near career ending back injury in December 2015. In just six months won a place on GB’s Team Pursuit squad, winning gold with Sir Bradley Wiggins, Owain Doull and Steven Burke.
While he is one of the countries most decorated track cyclists, with three Olympic Gold and one Bronze medal, he has five World Championships to his name, Clancy is also one of the countries top criterium riders.
Clancy joined JLT Condor in 2011 and during the years that the Tour Series has been in existence, Clancy has taken six individual victories, as well as four overall team victories, including two with John Herety at Rapha Condor JLT, making him one of the most successful rider in the series.
In 2017 Clancy will focus his attention purely on the road and riding for JLT Condor. He is a key member of the sprint train and his power in a leadout train will be difficult to match.
A very likable character, Ed’s relaxed nature belies his sporting status. Ed was appointed Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2017 New Years Honours.
