Japanese born clothing brand, PEdAL ED, will outfit the riders in a complete range of racing, training and casual cycling apparel from 1 January 2017. The apparel, all made in Italy, will be complemented with custom Kask helmets and Fizik shoes, which will bring an all-Italian flavour to the team.
The new partnership heralds a change in livery for Britain’s longest running UCI squad. Introducing a navy blue and burgundy scheme to the jersey.
“In the last few years we have been working closely with Transcontinental Race riders to develop tough functional equipment for long journeys, we now look to push the development of performance and aero clothing forward in collaboration with a team that has always stood out in the peloton. We want to bring a new aesthetic standard to the continental peloton.” explained Luca Mathia Bertoncello, Brand Director at PEdAL ED.
“With one eye to innovation and one eye to tradition we decided to celebrate Britain’s longest standing UCI team with a new look inspired by British colours.”
The jersey, weighing just 115g in medium is designed to offer maximum breathability as well as aerodynamic advantage, in part due to the one piece constructed material around the chest and shoulders. Made with ergonomic seams and a compression fit, the jersey made from an advanced technical fabric developed by PEdal ED.
“Our mission has always been to combine style with substance in whatever we do and wherever we race.” – John Herety
John Herety, Team Manager, said: “The apparel and fabrics that PEdAL ED have developed are extremely exciting for us. The new kit is a departure from our all black palette which we’ve used for 10 years. I love the change and PEdAL ED have brought fresh ideas to the table. I hope the team’s supporters do too. We’re still the team we’ve always been and our mission is to combine style with substance in whatever we do and wherever we race.”
Mark Drummond-Brady, Deputy Group CEO for JLT Group, said: “As specialists in what they do, JLT Condor has always looked to attract the support of other leading specialists, and we are proud to welcome PEdAL ED as the new kit partner to the team. This partnership brings yet another expert to help the team build on their impressive performances this year, and we wish the team good luck for what we hope will be another fantastic year of racing.”
Team kit will be available for purchase from Spring 2017
