Thousands of people took to the streets of Farringdon to watch an action packed Jupiter London Nocturne, as the world’s cycling elite raced around London’s iconic Smithfield Market. Team JLT Condor p/b Mavic rider, Ed Clancy, soared to victory several bike lengths ahead of Australian champ Steele Von Hoff (NFTO) and Chris Lawless (Team Wiggins).

Speaking after his victory, Santini Elite Criterium winner Ed Clancy said, “It was really tough out there, we were flat out from start to finish. We were outnumbered and the Madison Genesis guys kept attacking, but Kristian (House) and I managed to hold on to the front. It was so close at the end, but we managed to get over the line first, just I have never won the Nocturne before, it has always slipped away from us and tonight this feels brilliant.”

Forty-eight hours previous Ed Clancy was pipped to the line by Von Hoff in Canary Wharf, when the former Garmin-Sharp rider was able to get just a few millimetres in front to take the win away from Clancy, in the eigth round of the Tour Series. The race around London’s financial district was so fast that eventually only fifteen riders were left in the front group.
